In August 2016, Coaching for Hope became part of TackleAfrica. The two organisations now work as a single UK registered charity under the single TackleAfrica brand, sharing expertise and networks to offer even better support to young people affected by HIV in Africa.
Before becoming part of TackleAfrica, Coaching for Hope was a project of Skillshare International. Like TackleAfrica, Coaching for Hope used football-based projects to support young Africans with health and empowerment outcomes. Coaching for Hope worked mainly in West Africa, whilst TackleAfrica focussed primarily on East and Central Africa, so the merger brings an increased geographic footprint as well as shared expertise.
You can find out more about Coaching for Hope’s history and work in this section of the website. Check the homepage and The Latest sections for updates from Coaching for Hope programmes in West Africa (which will belong to TackleAfrica and be branded jointly in the short-term).
