Report: The LBS FC TackleAfrica Cup

Posted on: March 24th, 2011 1 Comment

TackleAfrica partners London Business School Football Club ran a hugely successful two day tournament featuring teams from business schools across Europe.   See results and photos here

The Tournament was preceded by a speakers event on Friday evening, with TackleAfrica’s Tom Colborne, speaking about HIV and football in Africa, sharing the stage with Manchester United Chief Operations Officer Michael Bolingbroke and corporate partner Accenture represented by Simon Martin.    This set the scene for a weekend of glorious football for the benefit of TackleAfrica and our work with young people across Africa.

Full results and a photo gallery can be found below – the matches were all hotly contested, with eventual winners Instituto de Empresa of Madrid overcoming hosts London Business School on penalties in Sunday’s final at Westways.

The event raised £1,262 for TackleAfrica, a fantastic contribution which will help us reach more young people affected by HIV in Africa.   We look forward to a long partnership with London Business School FC and hope to see them at the Football Marathon in July.
