We could not do the work we do, from Burkina Faso to Zambia, without the generous support of our partners, donors and sponsors, especially the hundreds of football players who volunteer their time year in, year out to play in our 12-hour football marathons, raising thousands of pounds in the process. On top of that, are the hundreds of volunteers who give their time to set up and pack away goals, load vans, manage the pitches, provide first aid to tired players, and crunch the numbers for the fixture lists. But there is an unsung hero at TackleAfrica, and today we pay tribute to the one and only Big Yellow Self Storage Company, without whom we’d have nowhere to store our samba goals, thousands of t-shirts, bibs and cones, trophies, and all sorts of donations we get every year from across the UK. One year we even got a donation of 2,000 cereal bars that we had to load and unload – that’s two thousand, yes.
Big Yellow not only provides us with great service but also gives us a fantastic rate as a registered charity, meaning more of our money goes to our programmes in Africa. A trip to our Big Yellow Storage unit is also a rite of passage for new staff, where they’ll pick up TackleAfrica kit before flying out to train coaches on sexual health and HIV prevention. Thanks Big Yellow – we couldn’t do it without you!
