In this series, we get to know a little more about our project staff across Africa and our UK team. Next up, Emily Issa! Emily is a Project Officer in Malawi who coached on our programme with Girls Empowerment Network and now supports coaches across the country.
Take Control. It has a strong message on HlV which encourages women to take control of their relationships.
2. Which message from the TackleAfrica manual do you think is the most important to your community (eg, condom use, removing stigma, support, healthy living etc)?
It’s all about HIV education through football.
5. If you were a professional sportsperson, which sport would you choose and why?
Netball – it’s what I am best at!
6. You are leaving tomorrow, and you can only take one belonging, which one would it be?
Thanks Emily! So to sum up, it seems no one can live without their phone these days, our project staff are multi-talented when it comes to sports, and there’s nothing like finding out the Chairman and the CEO support Tottenham to sway your answer…
Would you like to get involved in our work? There are so many ways, from donating to volunteering to playing in one of our football marathons. Visit www.tackleafrica.org/get-involved to see how you can be a part of our vision of an HIV-free Africa.
